At JOIN, we believe that the best way to
learn about the issue of homelessness is to talk with homeless people.
Our immersion program inspires personal
involvement by building relationships between diverse elements of the
community.
Over the course of a day, a weekend, or a
week, you can learn about issues involved in homelessness by engaging in
dialogue with folks living on the street.
The Immersion experience will provide you
with the tools to confront your personal fears and stereotypes, and help
you work to overcome them.
The Immersion is an excellent way to help
people educate themselves about poverty and social injustice through
relationships and conversation.
If you would like to be a part of an
Immersion, or want some more information on the experience, talk to your
group leader, call JOIN’s Immersion Coordinator at (503) 232-2031 or email
our Immersion Coordinator.
